This is not your typical stool to sit on, nor does it look comfortable. But if you look closer your actually sitting on chopsticks inside of a bamboo steamer (a cooking tool to steam food). Developed by students, Ryan Horsman and Jason Dembski, at the Taubman College of Architecture at the University of Michigan. It was constructed as part of a summer abroad program at B.A.S.E. Beijing with support from founders Robert Mangurian and Mary-Ann Ray. When you apply pressure the chopstick actually moves to the contour of where pressure is applied, kinda like the tempur-pedic material but its chopsticks. I don't think these are for sale but I would definitely buy one.
