Good Friday is basically the day which commemorates the crucifixion and death of Jesus for all our sins. If you want more of the details you can grab a bible and check out John 17-19. And for more a visual effect rent the movie 'Passion of Christ' by Mel Gibson, it does a good job showing what Jesus endured today.
