BFF DOESN'T STAND FOR 'BEST FRIENDS FOREVER'

/ Tuesday, June 9 /

The BFF or Bicycle Film Festival this year starts in NYC from June 17-21 (click read more)

Whats It About?

The Bicycle Film Festival celebrates the bicycle.
We are into all styles of bikes and biking. If you can name it-Tall Bike Jousting, Track Bikes, BMX, Alleycats, Critical Mass, Bike Polo, Cycling to Recumbents- we've probably either ridden or screened it. What better way to celebrate these lifestyles than through art, film, music and performance? We bring together all aspects of bicycling together to advocate its ability to transport us in many ways.
Ultimately the Fest is about having a good time.
We have been fortunate enough to include works of established artists such as Jorgen Leth, Mike Mills, Jonas Mekas, Blonde Redhead, Swoon and Michel Gondry among others as part of our programming.
Many of the artists who have participated in the Bike Film Fest such as the Neistat Brothers and Lucas Brunelle are gaining more and more recognition for their work.
Sign up for the email list or just come out and enjoy our 9th Annual Bicycle Film Festival.

-Brendt Barbur (Founding Director)

NEW SHOW: MEGA ENGINEERING

/ Monday, June 8 /

Discovery Channels new show, Mega Engineering, premiers Monday June 8 at 8 p.m. ET/PT. A must watch for engineers (click read more)

Mega Engineering takes us inside monumental future build projects, for a high stakes look at tomorrow's extreme engineering. In each episode, we'll see one of these projects go up before our very eyes. Using visually spectacular CGI, Mega Engineering presents the high tech obstacles that must be overcome and how technology is advancing today to accommodate the needs of these jawdropping structures of tomorrow.

The premier will show three different builds 60 minutes each.

1. DOME OVER HOUSTON- To save the city, a solution that may lie with a massive dome, 1,500 feet high and a mile in diameter that will rise over the city center.

2. BERING STRAIT TUNNEL- The Bering Strait tunnel would connect Russia and Alaska, creating a high-speed rail line, freight route, and a crucial oil pipeline.

3. CITY AT SEA- Some engineers are saying the only way for New Orleans to escape the water is to build a floating city: a New New Orleans, buoyed up by the water, not drowning under it.
